Social Reformers of Maharashtra a pointwise review (Dr. Aniruddha)
Preface
The book ‘A point-wise review of the Social Reformers of Maharashtra’, speaks about the Social Reformers of the state. This book will prove useful for the aspirants of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s Examinations, college students, and even general readers. This book speaks in detail about the life, work, philosophy and greatness of the Social Reformers.
An attempt has been made to explore the lives of sixty-one Social Reformers in this small book. These reformers brought about ren- aissance, reform and social awareness not only in Maharashtra but the entire nation, thus, in a way they can also be called as Indian thinkers. Maharashtra is their birthplace and even their place of work, they can therefore be known to be hailing from Maharashtra, but their work and thoughts have definitely crossed state borders and has made them national figures.
Although this book consists of the biographies of only sixty-one social reformers, but it definitely does not reduce the importance of other great social reformers that our country has been so fortunate to have had.
Comments from readers, are welcome in order to fill the gaps or lacunas the book carries, and even to improve and enhance the utility and usefulness of this book.
Social reformers are an integral and compulsory component of all examinations of the MPSC. Thus, this book has been written keeping in mind the various types of the MPSC papers, their difficulty level and the changing pattern of the objective questions, specially the emphasis given on the between the lines questions.
Students will most certainly find this book useful and it will fulfill their academic requirements. My best wishes to all students.
